WHAT ARE WE ALL ABOUT ??

The organisation, Budgerigar Rare & Specialist Exhibitors of Australasia (BRASEA) commenced in 1994 to promote the breeding and hence exhibiting of Budgerigar varieties and colours, which we term "rare".

From the humble beginnings our first award to the present the growth of the programme has been nothing short of sensational and at times growing faster than our financial support can handle.

The concept from one award at an Annual Show and one tiny Seminar for the Fallows at Tuggerah Lakes has now blossomed to hundreds of awards per annumn at shows and events. The expansion and development of the campaign now includes a "RARES" section at many annual shows and our own "BRASEA" Annual Show in June each year.

Clubs and Specialist Societies all over Australia & Overseas, have been approached regarding possible promotions for "rare" varieties and colours at their annual shows and meeting nights.

We are constantly being asked to support events which the Fancy sees as missing in other areas and we will be trying to accommodate as many of those requests as we can do.

"RARES MAIN AIMS:

To see all Clubs & Societies of Australia, in all states, bench a full team at their InterClub competitions, prior to the ANBC National Championships Competition......

To assist all clubs and societies to promote the rare varieties and colours, to their members and have each variety bred by some member within every club here in Australia, New Zealand and all Overseas Countries....

To seek sponsors and supporters to enable awards and rewards to be presented to those who support the exhibiting of "rare" varieties & Colours.....

To encourage exhibitors to breed more in number and show all "rare" varieties and colours.....

To organise and run 'Auctions' and other 'Fund Raising' events to finance our aims....

To assist Clubs with lectures and sales from breeders and exhibitors who keep the varieties they wish to introduce or encourage within their clubs......

To encourage all Clubs to have variety awards at every show they organise......

To set up a section for "RARES" within an existing show......

To establish our Own Rare & Specialist Annual Show.....

To support ANBC National Variety Competition and other like events....

To establish a code of "Budgie Friendship" throughout Australia and the World where we support each other in our aims to breed and exhibit Budgerigars.....

Many breeders are already supporting us and we have Membership available for individuals. Clubs and Organisations who can help with our aims, and are willing to give some time and expertise to assist in reachng our goals, if you would like to help, we would like to hear from you.
